Networked Mimetic Ethics
A Living Philosophy of Ethical Transmisssion
By Christopher I. L. James
Monograph - Abstract
This forthcoming monograph introduces Networked Mimetic Ethics (NME), a new philosophical system rooted in the idea that ethics does not begin with isolated decisions, but with the rhythms, repetitions and transmissions that shape moral life.
Rather than grounding ethics in will, outcome, or character alone, NME explores how values spread through imitation, visibility, and resonance; across systems, cultures, technologies, and institutions. In a world saturated by influence and accelerated by digital networks, ethical life can no longer be understood apart from how it is transmitted.
This monograph builds a generative architecture of ethical thinking for an evolving species; one attuned to pattern, presence, and plurality. It is a system of thought designed not for prescription, but perception; not to replace prior theories, but to reframe them around the flows that define the twenty-first century.
A full release is forthcoming. This page provides a preview of the ideas in motion.
About the Originator
Christopher I. L. James is the creator of Networked Mimetic Ethics; an emerging system of thought that explores how ethical life is shaped, transmitted and sustained through networks of influence, visibility and social imitation.
As an independent theorist, writer, and ethical systems thinker, his work bridges moral philosophy, behavioural psychology, and cultural dynamics. Rooted in both reflective inquiry and applied practice, his research investigates how values travel, not only through individuals, but through systems, institutions and technologies.
He is currently completing doctoral research on bias-conscious leadership. His wider body of work engages with questions of moral clarity, social contagion and ethical responsibility in an interconnected age.
This monograph represents the foundational expression of that work; a living philosophy for an evolving species.
